Hey there! On May 5th through May 11th my dad and I went to San Francisco on a vacation. My dad called it a business vacation because we were there to take pictures for our photography business. Here is what we did on our business vacation. I arrived to my dad's house at 8:00pm on Friday May 11th. I arrived at my house around 9:30pm. My dad and I had a blast on the trip. We left my dad's house at 7:00pm on Saturday May 5th. We stopped in Wendover to get a bite to eat. Then, we stopped in Winnimaca, NV for the night at Motel 6. The next day we departed at 10:00am. We stopped in Lake Tahoe, NV to take some pictures of Donner Lake. It was really pretty there and it was windy and cold. Later that day we arrived in San Francisco around 6:30pm at Motel 6. After we dropped off our stuff we went to Fisherman's Wharf. We ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe which is located at Pier 39. After dinner we took pictures of the sunset, sea lions and so forth. After that we went to Ghirardelli Square and had some ice cream.
On Monday May 7th we spent the day in San Francisco. First we took pictures of Lombard Street and then we went down Lombard Street. We ate lunch at Inn-in-Out Burgers. Then we went on a ferry and went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. Then we went to Coit Tower to take some pictures. After that we went to the Palace of Fine Arts and took some pictures there. After that we went to this place called Lands End and took some pictures there. To get to Lands End you have to follow this trail which almost killed me because it was a hike. After Lands End we went to The Cliff House and took some pictures of the sunset there. After that we drove to Marina, CA and spent the night there at Motel 6.
On Tuesday May 8th we went to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium in Monterrey, CA. Before we went to the aquarium we ate lunch at First Awakenings. It was really good. I found out about the place from Rachel Ray's book $40 Dollars a Day. I got the book for Christmas and I brought it with me on the trip. The Monterrey Bay Aquarium was amazing. We took a lot of pictures there. They have sea otters, river otters, penguins, sharks, jelly fish, sting rays and more there to see. After the aquarium we took the 17 mile scenic drive to Carmel, CA. The scenic drive was amazing and we took some really good pictures there. We saw the golf course Pebble Beach while we were there. After that we drove along the coast and went to our next destination San Simeon, CA where we spent two nights at Motel 6.
On Wednesday May 9th we went to Hearst Castle. We took tours 2 and 3. But we should of taken tours 2 and 4. I really enjoyed the two tours that we took and I took some amazing pictures while we were there. After the tours we went to the beach and walked on the pier. I took some pictures while we were on the pier. After that we went back to our motel and my dad watched the Jazz game. After that we went and ate dinner at the restaurant at Motel 6. While we were there we watched the rest of the Jazz game and the Jazz won.
On Thursday May 10th we left San Simeon, CA and headed to Las Vegas, NV. On the drive to Las Vegas we saw a lot of vineyards along the way. We also saw Almond, Walnuts and Pistachio trees. After a few hours or so of driving we stopped in Barstow, CA and got some souvenirs. Around 7:30pm we arrived in Las Vegas. When we got there the sun was about to set so we stopped at this one casino and took some pictures of the sunset. After that we went to the Tropicana to get a room for the night but we decided not to spend the night there so we got a room at Motel 6. After we got our room we went driving around to find somewhere to eat. We ate dinner at this place called Bahama Breeze. It was another place to eat at from Rachel Ray's book. Bahama Breeze is an awesome restaurant and it was so good. I got Lemonade to drink while I was there and it was the best Lemonade I have ever had. After dinner we went to the Paris Hotel and took some pictures. While we were there we went on the Eiffel Tower and took some pictures of the fountains and of the strip while we were up there.
On Friday May 11th we spent a couple of hours in Las Vegas. We were going to go on the roller coaster at New York New York but then we decided to go on the roller coaster at the Nascar hotel. So I took some motion sickness medicine. But then we decided to go on the gondolas at the Venetian Hotel instead. They were fun but the ride was short. After the ride we went to the worlds greatest gift shop and got some souvenirs. After that we drove to Mesquite and ate lunch at the buffet at the Oasis Hotel. While we were there the motion sickness medicine really kicked in. After lunch we drove straight home.
